I am not normally a big fan when it comes to writing, however, I thought it would be interesting to start some archive of sorts. Not only would this be to track my progression as a developer, but also to give out some ideas, common issues I observe, or explain some concepts that I have found rather difficult throughout my time of programming. By no means am I some professional software engineer (nor do I even have a degree in computer science), so take what I say with a grain of salt. I took interest in programming about 4 years ago with Java, although little of that time was spent properly learning the language. After being on and off for quite a while, around 6~ months ago I started to take it more serious (albeit I already had some previous knowledge).

The whole inspiration of this archive stems from a video that I had recently watched about effective learning. One of the key points within that video is:

If you understand the facts, you will remember it shortly, however, if you understand the concepts, you will remember it for a life-time.

I have struggled, and still struggle on a daily basis, when it comes to getting better at what I enjoy. What usually works for me is explaining the concepts out-loud, and that is pretty boring… So I thought to myself… What’s better than talking out-loud? And my answer to that is writing to myself, and hopefully the few people that stumble across this archive.

I think it would be neat to look back at some old posts from 5 years ago and look at my progression… As I progress as a developer, and as a human, I hope to look back and smile. This is probably going to be one of the shortest posts that I write here, considering a lot of my posts will go in-depth and cover absolutely everything that I currently understand about the topic at hand. Since there is no real way to quickly inform me about something wrong in one of my posts, feel free to email me or contact me via my Discord @ Ambrosia#2838.
