I think that it would be cool to start a collection where I put down my favorite quotes that I have found over the years. They aren’t all programming related, and I personally believe that all the following quotes apply to everyday life.

“We buy shit we don’t need, with money we don’t have, to impress people we don’t like.” – George Carlin

“If you are working on something that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you.” – Steve Jobs

“Everybody wants happiness, nobody wants pain, but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain.” – Unknown

“An army of sheep led by a lion is better than an army of lions led by a sheep.” – Alexander the Great

“Enemies.—Have you enemies? go straight on, and mind them not. If they block up your path, walk round them, and do your duty regardless of their spite. A man who has no enemies, is seldom good for anything—he is made of that kind of material which is so easily worked that every one has a hand in it. A sterling character—one who thinks for himself, and speaks what he thinks, is always sure to have enemies. They are as necessary to him as fresh air. They keep him alive and active.” – Unknown

“There is a simplicity to war. Attacking is the only secret. Dare, and the world yields. How quickly they forget that all it takes to change the course of history… is the will of a single man.” – Captain Price
